To keep these 3C products running, having a suitable charger and charging cable readily available has become an essential part of daily life. The brand I'm introducing today, " Hipporizz ," is a brand I've supported for many years. I've used " Hipporizz " phone cases for a long time, and their durability and drop protection have left a very deep impression on me. Today, this article will guide you through a hands-on test of two products: the Chargo GaN charger and the CAVO charging cable. What to consider when buying a charger?
When choosing a charger, the first thing to consider is the usage scenario. How powerful of a charger do you need? The formula for calculating charger wattage is as follows:

Using the above formula, we can see from the test instrument in the image that I am charging my MacBook Pro with the Chargo GaN charger at 19V / 2.98A = 58 watts. The Chargo charger comes in two models: 67W and 47W. Since I have multiple devices such as an iPhone, iPad, and MacBook that need charging, if you're like me and use multiple devices, the Chargo 67W is sufficient; otherwise, if you don't have many devices and don't need high power, the Chargo 47W will suffice.

First, I'd like to introduce the " Hipporizz Chargo Charger ." The Chargo GaN charger comes in two models: 67W and 47W. Besides the power difference, the most important distinction is the number of charging ports available. The Chargo charger features a minimalist white design with the model number printed on the side. Notably, the Chargo charger uses a foldable plug, making it more compact for portability and preventing it from scratching items in your bag. The features of these two chargers are as follows:

Hipporizz Chargo Charger Specifications
The " Hipporizz Chargo Fast Charger " comes in two models: 67W and 47W. Both are developed using similar modules, so their weight and size are essentially the same. Both chargers feature foldable plugs, making them convenient to carry and less likely to scratch other items in your bag. Based on my actual tests, they weigh approximately 42 grams, making them very light and compact for carrying in a small bag.

In terms of size, both Hipporizz Chargo fast chargers have nearly identical dimensions. The 67W charger measures 47.65 x 36.56 x 31.55 (mm), while the 47W charger measures 47.06 x 36.50 x 31.51 (mm). From these figures, it's clear that the two chargers are very similar in size. Whether it has two USB-C ports or one USB-A and two USB-C ports, the size is not too large, making it quite portable for busy individuals or travelers.
Hipporizz Chargo Charger Foldable Prongs
The Hipporizz Chargo fast charger features foldable prongs, which not only reduce its size but, more importantly, prevent scratches to valuable items in your bag when folded. Furthermore, foldable prongs significantly reduce the risk of breakage compared to non-foldable types when unplugging the charger. This feature has received excellent feedback in practical use, and it clearly demonstrates advantages in terms of daily storage and durability.
Hipporizz Chargo Charger Protocol Test
The Hipporizz Chargo fast charger is equipped with two USB-C ports and one USB-A port. The USB-C ports primarily support the PD fast charging protocol, along with PPS, while the USB-A port mainly supports the Quick Charge protocol. Although the charger is not positioned as high-end, it does not compromise on protocols. For Samsung and Google Pixel phones, which are more sensitive to chargers, this charger supports the PPS protocol, allowing for a more efficient charging handshake. Hipporizz Chargo Charger Fast Charge Test
For a charger, the most crucial aspect is the actual user experience, with the most direct feeling coming from practical charging tests with devices. I have tested a wide range of equipment, conducting a full round of tests on commonly used devices like MacBook Pro, iPad, and iPhone. The detailed test results are as follows:
First, we tested the USB-C ports of the two chargers, the “Hipporizz Chargo” 67W and 47W, using a MacBook Pro. As shown in the image above, when testing the MacBook Pro with either USB-C port of the 67W charger, we measured a charging power close to 19.4V/2.98A (60 watts). When testing the MacBook Pro with the 47W charger, both ports measured approximately 19.5V/2.32A (45 watts).
Next, we also tested the USB-C ports of the “Hipporizz Chargo” 67W and 47W chargers, this time using an iPhone 16 Pro Max. As shown in the image above, when testing the iPhone 16 Pro Max with either USB-C port of the 67W charger, we measured a charging power close to 8.4V/2.86A (24 watts). Similarly, when testing the iPhone 16 Pro with the 47W charger, both ports also measured 8.4V/2.86A (24 watts).
For the charging test, we used instrumentation to fully record the charging data minute by minute. As seen in the images above, I tested the “Hipporizz Chargo” 67W charger with an iPhone, iPad Pro, and MacBook Pro. My personal habit is to start charging when the device battery is around 25-30%. The voltage and current charts above show that the “Hipporizz Chargo” fast charger demonstrates excellent performance in both charging speed and stability. Devices can be fully charged within approximately 2 hours, and the PD fast charging is quick and reliable. I highly commend this aspect, and overall, I am very satisfied with the user experience.
This test section uses the “Hipporizz Chargo” 47W charger. As seen in the image above, the iPhone and iPad did not reach the maximum power output of 45 watts during charging, as their highest power consumption is below 45 watts. For my MacBook Pro, which supports up to 96 watts, the “Hipporizz Chargo” 47W charger provided a maximum of 45 watts. Therefore, the recording shows a stable 45 watts for the first 1 hour and 40 minutes, gradually entering trickle charge mode until fully charged.
In addition to charging speed, temperature is also a critical factor for chargers. Why mention temperature? Because poor design leading to excessive heat can trigger protection mechanisms that reduce charging power, thereby affecting the device's charging speed. The Hipporizz Chargo fast charger uses a GaN gallium nitride chip + internal thermal paste, achieving up to 93% power conversion efficiency, allowing for maximum power output within a limited size.
The reason why the Hipporizz Chargo fast charger can achieve lower temperatures during charging is due to the internal filling of "organic silicone." This technology can effectively improve heat dissipation efficiency by about 10%. Charger performance decreases at high temperatures, so better heat dissipation helps maintain high power output efficiency. Furthermore, organic silicone is also flame-retardant, offering enhanced product safety.
What to consider when buying a charging cable?
Although charging cables may seem quite simple, the Hipporizz CAVO Charging Cable actually holds a lot of expertise. When choosing a charging cable, the first things to consider are the usage scenario, the maximum power supported by the device, the required cable length, and whether data transfer is needed. The Hipporizz CAVO Charging Cable currently offers three specifications:

Compared to other brands that can easily cost over NT$1,000, during the Double 12 sale, the most expensive Hipporizz CAVO Charging Cable model is only NT$519 (original price NT$590), while the basic model is only NT$343 (original price NT$390).

Apart from differences in charging power, these four cable types also vary significantly in data transfer speeds. The entire CAVO Charging Cable series measures 1.5 meters in length, making it more convenient to use compared to the typical 1-meter cables on the market. For content creators who need to transfer large amounts of data, photos, or videos, CAVO Charging Cable also offers cables with speeds up to 20Gbps.

Additionally, the connection between the charging cable and the USB-C connector is specially reinforced with a fishbone structure. According to factory tests, even after 5,000 bends, the Hipporizz CAVO Charging Cable remains in perfect condition.

The reason for the significant difference in cable thickness for the "Hipporizz CAVO Charging Cable" primarily stems from the differences in power output and transmission speed. The thickest "Hipporizz CAVO Charging Cable" needs to accommodate a super high charging power of 240W and support a data transfer rate of 20Gbps for USB3.2 Gen2, so the core material must be carefully selected to meet these specifications.

To verify the accuracy of the data, the author specifically used an instrument to test the "Hipporizz CAVO Charging Cable." As shown in the image above, the first cable tested was the CAVO 240W Magnetic Braided Charging Cable (Figure 2). The data in the image shows that this is a charging cable supporting up to 50V/5A 240W, with a transmission rate of USB2.0 480Mbps. The CAVO 240W High-Speed Charging and Data Cable (Figure 3) is a charging cable supporting up to 50V/5A 240W, with a transmission rate of USB3.2 20Gbps.

The CAVO 240W High-Speed Charging and Data Cable is the most advanced model among all the charging cables introduced today, so the author specifically used this cable for data transfer testing. As shown in the image above, testing with Disk Speed Test revealed that the ThunderBolt 3 hard drive can achieve read and write speeds of approximately 1.7GB/s. For a more direct test, RAW files from the author's camera, approximately 50GB in size, were transferred in less than 1 minute, which is consistent with the USB3.2 20Gbps transfer rate.

When first introducing the charger, the author used the "Hipporizz CAVO Charging Cable." In terms of specifications, the "Hipporizz CAVO Charging Cable" supports up to 240W, which is quite advanced. While it may not be fully utilized now, as devices evolve, charging power will gradually increase. For example, many MacBook Pro models now require 140W charging power, and more high-power devices will undoubtedly need it in the future. Therefore, the advanced specifications of the "Hipporizz CAVO Charging Cable" are not only applicable now but will also be future-proof. The experience of using this cable is that it performs stably and conveniently in daily use. From all aspects of evaluation, whether for high-power charging or data transfer, it provides reliable and fast performance, with both durability and performance being very reassuring.
Are Hipporizz chargers and charging cables recommended?
Chargers and charging cables are essential items in our daily lives, as many devices require charging. Today, I'm introducing two products from Hipporizz: Chargo fast chargers and CAVO charging cables. After in-depth testing, I highly recommend both. My experience is that while "Hipporizz" may not boast top-tier specifications, they are more than sufficient for over 90% of everyday scenarios, offering satisfying charging speed and stability. Furthermore, feedback from other users in the market indicates that these two products are not only reliable but also very affordable, making them easily accessible even for those on a budget, providing excellent value for money.
